This police headquarters, was planned for a projected population of 90,000. For this large police headquarters project, Nelson Wong Architect Inc. was the prime consultant providing full services in joint venture with a local firm*. Programming, site planning, design and preliminary working drawings were done by our firm. Design features included: drive thru sally port, 3 bay garage for vehicle, boat maintenance, a community meeting room and a community services pavilion, and a trellised upper level patio adjacent to the lunch room. Further, Nelson Wong Architect Inc. was retained to provide interior design coordination and graphic/signage services. Specialized police building details and material selections developed from the previous police projects were specified for this building to ensure that durable and functional materials and fitments were provided. During construction, Nelson Wong attended site meetings to ensure design and contract drawings were followed. This project was tendered over 13% below the project budget.
