Nelson Wong Architect Inc. was retained to provide the planning services related to the study of the current Metropolitan Toronto Police Forensic Identification Services at the Metropolitan Toronto Police Headquarters building. In his capacity as Planner/Architect, he was able to determine the spatial and environmental problems associated with this facility, with the assistance of mechanical/electrical consultants. In the questionnaire tailored to this facility, current and projected staffing and the handling of the various chemicals and pathogens were assessed. The findings and recommendations identified the critical issues and guidelines which this new Forensic Identification Services Facility must address in order to be fully and effectively operational.
