This feasibility study for a combined police station, fire station and ambulance facility is to serve a small community of 4,100 people on a east coastal peninsula. Our mandate was to evaluate 3 alternative sites for this new facility. A programme was developed for space requirements. From this programme, different conceptual designs were developed for 2 of the better sites. A criteria for evaluation was prepared and assessment followed. The preferred site was recommended by consultants based on the overall rating from the evaluation criteria. The local council was presented with our findings and recommendations. Funding for the design phase is now pending.
